Blog posting for my English class was a new experience for me and I have never done it before. With new kind of Internet interaction, such as, blogging on the Internet distances between people become smaller. Blog can be posted almost anywhere which makes it even more important for these days society. Furthermore, posting blogs can bring people closer together.

In class we were asked to make observations of our class on every Tuesday. If we look back, these blogs are a good indicator what we did and how good our progress was.

Last week of semester

We are entering into the last week of this fall semester. Everyone is getting excited due to the fact that we will be able to go home and spend New Year with our families. Even though, most of us still have school obligations. I believe that we all are working hard to get grades we want and to finish this semester as good as we can. Therefore, try to give your best and have great holidays.

Clemson community

As a Clemson student and a tennis team member I am part of the Clemson community. Being in this position is a big honor for me. Especially, when I am playing in a match and representing our school. Clemson community is something special due to the fact that all students are connected, even thought there are many cultural, religion, and age differences. Every single person is giving its part to a better community as a whole.

The Bowl Game

Chick-fil-A bowl game is going to be one of the most exciting events for Clemson in recent years. Unfortunately it is scheduled for the December 31^st. I would really love to be part of it, but at that time I will be spending time with my family in Slovenia. My believe is that this will be a big and close game; however, at the end Clemson football team will celebrate the victory.

My writing style

Before I came to United States I did not had as much writing skills as I have it now. I am finishing my second semester and my first English class. My knowledge about how to write is improving every day, at least from my point of view. Class is helping me to stay in this way and to get even better. It is no doubt that I still have to do a lot of work, but I am confident to achieve this goal.

Thank you for smoking

During the week class our teacher showed us a movie called “Thank you for smoking”. A movie, we were watching, was really interesting, especially due to the fact that it was in strong connection with our class subject; good argument is needed for a successful persuasion. The movies’ main character was using it perfectly. He was able to convince almost anyone he wanted to. Besides his persuasive speech, he was also using his body, for example, his hands which made even bigger effect on his audience. I can say that this movie is a helpful tool of how to accede to a conversation.

Changes to visual rhetoric project

As a consequence of doing a visual rhetoric assignment, I know much more about how to use it functionally in a paper or any other type of a project. Any kind of visual can have positive effects. An appropriately use can enhance valuable information in your paper. Even more, it can make your paper more appealing and attractive. On the other hand, if you use it inappropriately it can have opposite results. Excessively use of photos makes paper harder to read.

Observation 6

On Monday, October 8th we turned back our photo essay assignment in English lab. I decided to look for recreation in Clemson University campus. The thesis was worded as follows, “Has Clemson University enough recreation facilities available for its students?” As a student-athlete I put a big emphasis on healthy life with a lot of sport, and because of that I found this question as an important one. Walking through the campus I found many different fields, courts and also the most important recreation building, Fike Recreation Center. As an evidence, I took photos of all these interesting parts of the campus. After that I was able to answer to my thesis question with affirmative answer, Clemson University has enough recreation facilities available to its students.

Recently I saw an article about the greenest cities in United States. It was quite interesting and surprising because on that list was New York. I found this quite unexpected. New York is one of the biggest cities and also one of the busiest ones. But actually they are doing a great work with energy-efficient housing, clean and quality water. Further more, they also have a big natural park which gives a big amount to make a New York City greener. My paper topic is going to talk about recycling which is one of the key parts to make city greener and nicer for living. New York is trying to make smart decisions in this direction.

Future Weapons

Event though our Planet already has a various kinds of weapons, there is always something new coming up. All this new improvements in present military weapons are making us astonished. They are more and more effective. It is really going in the way to total automation, where no people power will be needed. In last week's class, we were watching a video clip about a newly develop gun. It had taken a lot of time before this gun came into the hands of soldiers. This gun is supposed to find every target even though the soldier is not marking at the target for the whole time. So he is able to run away, into the safe spot.

That is why this weapon helps to protect people lives, not just take them. In general, world is trying to be a progressive in the term of weapons. Like I said, one reason for this is that they are trying to develop totally automated weapons.
In my opinion future weapons of this planet will be totally self-functional. With this, I mean that there will be just a distant human control.

I would like to see that there will be less human casualties because of that.

Observation 2

Last week we met just once on Thursday. It was becouse of the football game. Which was by the way really exciting. I was enjoying in the unbelievable atmosphere which was made through Clemson fans. Just like on the game, I was having fun in class to. All the articals which we were looking at had an interesting purpose. They were talking about the food, especially about the problems which are made through the artifical producing. We gave an example of a movie, Super Size Me. There was also an artical about a war in the middle east. Becouse there is a question, if we are looking at the true picture of a war or is that just an imaginary one. We cannot say whether the TV houses are talking honestly. The third artical was talking about safety on campuses.

At the end of class we were trying to get same topics about current issuses which will be used in our paper.

CLEMSON Vs. fsu

Last than twenty-four hours are left to the probably one of my biggest event in life. Firstly, I have to say that this game is going to be my first football game. I am coming from Slovenia, a small country in Europe. Even though football is not that big of a deal in Europe and I do not know all of the rules, I am looking forward to be part of this big game. Everyone around me are looking really exciting and that is making me even more curious about how everything is going to look like. Even if I just look on our enormous stadium, I can see that this will be really something special. All the fans dressed in orange, probably singing Clemson's songs, cheering and doing all kind of things. And all people who are already driving into the Clemson area. (Yea) It is going to be a real fun being part of this event.
